Clear Harmony's storage and travel case is a sleek black molded unit. It's protective case measures approximately 7" wide x 8" deep x 2.5" thick. Upon opening the case, by its double zipper, you find the headphones stored on one side of the case and kept in place by a thin elastic strap. On the opposite side there is a mesh pocket attached to the inner lid with Velcro. A replacement set of AAA batteries store neatly inside this pocket, along with the removable 64" long 3.5 cable, which comes with a 1/4" adapter and a dual prong airplane adapter. Interestingly, there is also enough storage space for an object, the same exact size as an iPod player, to securely store.

Clear Harmony's five foot cord includes an in-line volume adjustment slider, which provides all sorts of easy tweaking without fumbling with the music player's volume control. When your attention needs to be directed outside of your listening bubble, it is very easy to immediately slide the volume all the way down and then return it to the volume you enjoy. We found this to be extra helpful. While keeping our player on the mid-volume level, our headset was plenty loud; due to the ANC properties and the LINX AUDIOTM technology, our ability to enjoy the music at lower volumes was evident with my increased perception of loudness and clarity.

Able Planet Clear Harmony Active Noise Canceling Headphones are the best noise cancelling headphones on the market. They have received criticism for a design feature we rate as EXCELLENT. Some have requested a rechargeable battery to be placed in the headphones, instead of the AAA batteries now required for the Active Noise Cancellation Technology. While some believe rechargeable batteries may be more convenient, we believe safety must come first and agree with Able Planet's design. First, with the recent controversy surrounding rechargeable batteries and fires; we do not recommend placing rechargeable batteries in headphones that are designed to be placed on the head. Technology should enhance your life, not endanger it. Second, while traveling long distances a rechargeable battery is at a disadvantage, recharging takes time. Replacing a couple of AAA batteries take just a few moments and then, you are back enjoying the richest, fullest, clearest sounding music noise canceling headphones can provide.
Yes, your LINX AUDIOTM continues to provide you with the increased intensity of the higher frequency harmonics even without the batteries, other noise cancelling headphones are useless when their battery goes dead.
